At McNab’s Books we want you to feel like you can travel a thousand miles, go to worlds not yet conceived of. Be who ever you choose, a great inventor, a scientist, an explorer, a pirate, a Queen. Learn new skills and hone to perfection, those previously mastered; all from the safety and comfort of one of our cosy armchairs.

From the Café next door enjoy mainly vegan and vegetarian food cooked to order, tasty pies, tarts, toasties and cakes. Our coffee is simply the best there is.

Order in the Café and enjoy in the Bookshop.

Our independent bookshop, established in 1988, has been here through name changes, world changes and kindles and we’ve never run out of charge.

We sell old, new and second hand books.

We do book valuations and house clearances

Book orders taken.

We also supply cards, gifts, wrapping paper, pens and stationery.

Dogs are welcome, no wasps.
